Reverse Engineering Courses

Reverse Engineering Courses helps to learn recreation of object using scanning of objects. Geomagic Design X training is a three-day course covering the different modelling techniques which enables the user to model from scan data back to a ‘Design Intent’ CAD model, a model created using NURBS surfacing or an auto surface.

The course is divided into the following topics:

Day 1:

• User Interface
• Modelling from mesh data
• Modelling without mesh
• Live transfer

Day 2:

• Region editing
• Alignment
• Scan registration
• Modelling practice (from client data if preferred)

Day 3:

• Mesh editing
• Freeform surfacing
• Auto Surfacing
• Modelling practice (from client data if preferred)

Geomagic Design Direct (formerly Geomagic Spark) combines powerful reverse engineering tools with an easy-to-use, comprehensive direct modeling CAD platform.

The course is divided into the following topics:

• Create 3D solid models and drawings from incomplete scan data
• Add missing parts to solid assembly models
• Quickly create concept models and renderings for product design

In this training session, you will become familiar with how the FARO Platinum Arm and PowerINSPECT software interact with one another to provide accurate 3D measurements.

• Calibration – Probe Selection (Arm)
• Compensation – Correct Feature Creation based on Probe Compensation

• Feature Creation & Measurement – Model Prep & Data Capture of Prismatic Features
• Coordinate System Creation & Manipulation
• CAD Alignments – Iterative, 3 Feature & Feature Based Alignment Creation
• Dimension Creation – Linear and Angle
• GD&T Usage – Feature Control using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
• Leap Frog – Multiple Device Positions
• Repeated Measures Analysis
• Reverse Engineering

In this training session, you will become familiar with how the FARO Edge Arm and CAM2 Measure 10 software interact with one another to provide accurate 3D measurements. You will also be introduced to a Basic Measurement Strategy, which will get you thinking about what you need to include in the final report and how you can obtain that information before you begin measuring. You will see the process of how you think about a project vs. how you actually do a project.
